Footing movement and washed-out footings in Adelaide

Footings move when the supporting ground dries, wets, erodes or loses support. In Adelaide that is commonly reactive clay. It is also plumbing leaks, broken stormwater, and water running along the edge of a slab or strip footing.

Sloping floors, sticking doors, stepped cracks at corners, and cracks that are worse on one side of the house are reasons to inspect. They are not, on their own, a diagnosis.
